Weekend in Pictures – Finders Keepers Round Up

Jeepers… Finders Keepers… what a weekend. The sun was in glorious form for the Brisbane Finders Keepers market last weekend. We had Frankie the caravan positioned in amongst the roses and the trumpet creepers… spectacular setting. It was such a fun market….. we had the music cranking, our new coffee friend ‘Muriel the Kombi’ of Kombi Koffein was pumping out the coffee… I can’t express what a great time Timothy O and I had…. it felt like a summer festival! Thank you so much to all who came by to say hello and to see us…. it makes such a difference having a chat and meeting new people… I love it….

… Come Sunday afternoon after the pack up of the market it was great to be back at home and sitting down on the sofa exhausted…..I had a quick flip through this Margaret Olley book… a new acquisition…. I adore her work…
… I had heard about this milk, Scenic Rim 4Real Milk, on the radio last week and I was delighted to find it at Sourced Grocer in Teneriffe in Brisbane there were squeals of excitement . Farmer Greg is taking on the big supermarkets and is offering farm gate real milk with minimum processing to shops and cafes with low ‘food miles’. Check out his website if you are in Brisbane to find out where you too can find delicious proper milk. A lot of farmers in Australia get a pretty raw deal when it comes to the supermarkets, so I am so thrilled to be able to support this particular farmer who is doing it himself….
… I came across this old frame at my friend Tony’s antique shop which I decided to put in the kitchen… along with some old copper scoops I sourced from out west recently….
… the house smells very zingy now after the market….. my mother gave me lots and lots of fresh lemons to decorate our trestle tables with for the Finders Keepers market and now we have them everywhere…. I love home grown lemons….
… this week I have been busily preparing for this weekend’s Jan Powers Farmers Market, on Saturday at The Brisbane Powerhouse…. Gosh… market fever….

Such a great weekend! We met so many great people and Frankie has a new friend Muriel.
I can confirm that there were, indeed, squeals at the milk. Is it as lovely as it sounds? I’m going to keep checking to see if it is around my neighbourhood and give it a try. Reminds me of the days when you used to fight to lick the cream from the foil lid! xx
Oh, Frankie and Muriel together at last! So sad I missed it (but was on holidays). Looking forward to meeting you at your styling class ;)
Hello
Hope you are both well! Love the pictures as always! Is the picture in the black (?) frame still available and if se how much is it? Am a sucker for old landscapes…
Many thanks
cheers
