Sorry I have been so quiet this week. It started off all ‘Shabang, Shabang, I’m white washing the floors this week’… and has turned less ‘Shabang’ and way more shit.
I have been nursing our chicken Nigella since Monday afternoon as she wasn’t looking her best and now I think she has taken a turn for the worse.
She had a sleep over at the avian vet surgery last night and I’m awaiting her test results today. I am very doubtful. Poor Nigella.

poor baby… When my girls are looking unwell I bring them inside and syringe feed them a combo of warm weetbix and brown sugar. seems to help. love to you XXX
Thanks Jane. She has been up here living like a proper house chicken in her royal cardboard box (and loving it); getting all the yummy treats and special food and attention, however there seems to be a more serious condition with her. Thanks Jane xxxx
Oh no…I hope she pulls through Kara. It’s been raining here for the past 3-4 days non-stop and I’ve been worried about our feathered ladies getting sick. All the best xx

Oh sweet… we get so loved up with our pets aye! I hope the vet will work some magic on her, lots of good thoughts over from my way.

I came on just to check if you had posted about her! I was actually thinking “I hope she’s OK” every time it popped into my head today! They are your fluffy babies so i understand your worried.. I hope she is feeling better though! I was telling Husband about it and he said that he knew of someone’s dog that got heavy metal poisoning from drinking the water from an old tank in an old house.. The water was contaminated for some reason as it came from the run off from the old roof? Just in case i thought i would mention it.. Fingers and toes crossed for her.. Hunter says cheep cheep to her too.. :) x
Oh Katherine; aren’t so you so thoughtful! Thank you for thinking of us…… we think we have narrowed it down to the flue collar from the fire place. We trimmed it about a month ago to make it fit onto our flue, as we bought the fireplace second hand. Nigella must of found some and had a nibble on it. It’s very scary when you think how easily it can happen. While being at the vet’s last week I watched so many people come in with pets who were poisoned from metal. It really bad. It’s treatable, though not all animals make it.
